ABOUT ME
Dr. Ali Altan graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Gazi University in 1997 and completed his urology recidency at the Turkiye High Training and Research Hospital from 1998 to 2003. During his training, he gained extensive experience in endoscopic surgery, urinary system stones, advanced cancer surgery, kidney transplantation, and sexual dysfunctions.
In 2004, Dr. Altan began working at Private Mesa Hospital. In 2005, with the addition of a laser system to the hospital’s infrastructure, he performed GREENLIGHT LASER surgery on hundreds of prostate patients over the next 19 years. He currently uses a variety of treatment methods, including THULIUM LASER, in his daily practice for the surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
When Mesa Hospital withdrew from the health sector in 2010, Dr. Altan continued his work at the newly renamed Private TOBB ETU Hospital. There, he worked with the newly introduced holmium laser system and performed endoscopic surgeries for many urinary system stone patients. He specializes in kidney stone treatments, particularly using FLEXIBLE URETERORENOSCOPY.
Since his time as a resident, Dr. Altan has been performing prostate biopsies using the latest technology, such as PROSTATE FUSION BIOPSY, since 2017. With over 300 prostate fusion biopsies performed, he has gained significant expertise in this field. He was also part of the team that first performed local treatment of early-stage prostate cancer using the NANOKNIFE method in Turkey. This team, which has the largest Nanoknife series in the country, published their findings in the medical literature, showcasing the high treatment effectiveness of this method.
Dr. Ali Altan also contributed to student education at the Faculty of Medicine at TOBB ETU University between 2014 and 2024. He is fluent in both English and Spanish
